Conflict of Interest

A situation where a board member has a personal or financial interest that could improperly influence their decision-making on behalf of the association. Examples include voting on a contract with a company the board member owns, or making enforcement decisions involving their own unit. Board members must disclose conflicts and typically must recuse themselves from related votes.
