Declarant Control

Also known as: Developer Control

The period during which the developer retains the right to appoint or control the board of directors of a newly created association. This control typically ends when a specified percentage of units have been sold, a certain number of years have passed, or the developer voluntarily relinquishes control. During this period, the developer has fiduciary duties to the association.
